Megan Kilzy

Megan (Meg) Kilzy is the Treasurer of the APANJ, following the November 2018 election at the County Prosecutors Association of New Jersey Annual College. Her goals, in addition to the executive board and trustees, is to enhance the accessibility and significance of the APANJ in the lives of Assistant Prosecutors, state wide. To best effectuate the shared goals of the executive board requires a strong fiscal structure. She began this early on, with diversification of the financial portfolio and a change in banking institution.

Meg has been an assistant prosecutor since 2011. She began her career serving as an assistant prosecutor for the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office until 2016, when she came to join the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. With over ten years of experience, Meg has served in several units, spanning Trial Team, Special Prosecutions, Special Victim’s Unit and currently Chief of the Financial Crimes Unit Her experience spans a variety of areas, including homicide, attempted murder, dark web investigations, gun and gang related offenses, sex crimes against children, and complex financial crimes.

Meg received her B.A. in Classical Latin Language and Philosophy from Wellesley College. After college, Meg attended Roger Williams University School of Law, where she obtained her J.D., and served as President of the Moot Court Society. She continued her legal education and earned an L.L.M in Intellectual Property from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where she wrote a thesis on issues surrounding the Patent Reform Act.

After her legal education, Meg was as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Barry P. Sarkisian, J.S.C. in the civil division of Hudson County. She is an active member in good standing of the New Jersey and New York bars.
