Renee White

Renee White has been an Assistant Prosecutor at the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office for seventeen years. She has also been a registered nurse for the past nineteen years, ten of which were spent working in and out of emergency departments within major corporate healthcare systems. Renee White has about 25 years’ experience in the healthcare field. Supervising Assistant Prosecutor White is the Director of the Special Offenders Unit (SOU) and Coordinator of the Prosecutor-Led Mental Health and Veterans Diversion Programs. Created in 2014, the SOU handles a multitude of cases including mental health and veterans’ diversion, ID/DD matters, competency, NGRI, and KROL matters, as well as crisis related duty calls. As the supervising assistant prosecutor for the SOU, Ms. White is one of the Duty to Warn and Extreme Risk Protective Order designees for her agency. She is also the CIT (Crisis Intervention Team Training) Law Enforcement Coordinator and the Chief Resiliency Liaison for Ocean County.

Ms. White earned her B.S. in Criminal Justice and History from Rutgers University in 1998. She then earned her Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law in 2001 followed by an A.A.S. from Ocean County College in 2004. Ms. White has been an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Ocean County College since 2004 and she became a Forensic Nurse-Certified in Sexual Assault (FN-CSA) in 2007. Ms. White graduated with an MSN from Rutgers University and currently works at CityMD in Lacey Township NJ as an ANCC board certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC). Ms. White also obtained a postmasters certificate from Johns Hopkins University and is an ANCC board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She graduated from Yale University with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in an effort to become more involved in healthcare policy. Renee is the owner and practitioner for her own behavioral health practice, Micrennic Health and Wellness, located in Little Egg Harbor, NJ and Renee has been the Rotation Director/Supervisor for PGY-2 Forensic Psychiatry Residents at Hackensack School of Medicine since 2020 and is faculty at Hackensack School of Medicine. She is a member of the Federalist Society, the American Nurses Association, she is the immediate Past President of the New Jersey State Nurses Association Region 6 and she is a member of several county and state task forces. She is currently a past-President of the Ocean County Bar Association and the current President of the Assistant Prosecutors Association of New Jersey. Renee is the married mother of four children, ages 14, 20, 21, and 22.
